Choosing a property in which we want to live is a very difficult and responsible decision. We should use common sense when it comes to it, taking into account what our life will be like in five, ten or more years. You should also take into account how the neighborhood where we currently live may change, how it is and how it can be connected in some time. It is good to prepare for yourself a summary of the advantages and disadvantages of various solutions, so that the final decision is the result of an informed choice.
Flat
Benefits
One of the advantages of the apartment will be its easy accessibility. In the case of a large city, there are such cases that we can find a suitable apartment within just a few days. Simply put, quite often we will find something that will simply suit us. In addition, when arranging an apartment, we do not have to spend as much time as in the case of a house.
Location is also very important. From your apartment, whether in the center or on the outskirts of the city - you are always closer. And usually, in housing estates, we find a store where we can fill the basic shortages in supply. In the case of houses in the suburbs, it is not so obvious. In the city, we also have easier access to various restaurants, cinemas, theaters, schools and, of course, workplaces.
Living in the suburbs, we will not be able to spontaneously go out with friends for a coffee, beer or club. It must be carefully planned, and if the plan does not work out - we will waste a lot of time and energy.
It is also assumed that the apartments are less likely to be stolen. This is because of the neighbors. It is much more difficult to break into an apartment unnoticed than into a house that is somewhere out of the way. The issue of security is really important for many people.
Disadvantages
Do you like peace and quiet? Your neighbors may like to listen to loud music. Do you like listening to loud music? Your neighbors may like peace and quiet. What does it mean? Lack of comfort and a need for compromises on both sides. In practice, this means that each party is somewhat dissatisfied and their freedom is greatly restricted.
The price per m2 of an apartment in a good location can be really expensive. This means that we have to give up more space for a really good location - or spend a really huge amount of money, which as we well know, not everyone can afford.
The prying eyes of our neighbors may also be a disadvantage, which is not one of the most pleasant elements of living in a flat, in a city, on the other hand - it also happens in small suburban towns.
Your own house with a large garden sounds beautiful, but if you consider a few issues, living in a block of flats may seem more advantageous.
First of all, "mobility". If we have a car, there is no problem, but in the absence of it, or when there is one in the family, easier movement and access to public transport is definitely in the city. And thus saving time!
Additionally, "the convenience of living". Depending on the season, summer speaks for home, preferably away from the city center. Meanwhile, when autumn comes, it gets cold, gray and drab. The picturesque landscape disappears, the paths turn to mud, living in a block of flats, in the city may turn out to be more pleasant. The prospect of clearing snow and providing fuel for the winter does not sound optimistic for everyone. Which can also be troublesome in old age.
In the block you do not have to worry about heating, cleaning the staircase and around the building, administrative issues, maintenance and renovation of the building. In fact, only what breaks down in the apartment. The house requires a lot of investment, including financial and more care to keep it in good condition.
Living in a block of flats is definitely a better option for busy people, also the elderly or sick, but also for those who want to be close to everything.
